Why Our Organization Uses LATINE: AN INCLUSIVE DECISION / Por qué nuestra organización utiliza LATINE: UNA DECISIÓN INCLUSIVA
Within the framework of linguistic equality and inclusion, LCBAG has been working with its entire team on training and awareness through the powerful tool of education.
LCBAG worked with a consultant to better understand the Spanish language and the evolution towards gender inclusion that has been taking place over the last few years in the Spanish language. As is known to those who speak the Spanish language, there are grammatical masculine and feminine, for example: La niña (the girl) or el niño (the boy). However, those who do not identify with “El” or “La” feel excluded by this gendered language. This is why, in recent years, inclusive alternatives have become present on the communication scene for words associated with a gender, thus adopting letters such as “X” in the United States and “E” in most countries from Latin America and Spain.
En el marco de la igualdad e inclusión lingüística, LCBAG viene trabajando con todo su equipo en la formación y sensibilización a través de la poderosa herramienta de la educación, para comprender mejor el idioma español y la evolución inclusiva que ha venido marcando una diferencia a lo largo de los últimos años en la lengua española, siendo concretamente el idioma que nos concierne en este documento. Como es de saber para quienes son hablantes de la lengua española, existen femeninos y masculinos gramaticales, por ejemplo: La niña o el niño; sin embargo, aquellos quienes no se identifican con “El” o “La” se sienten excluidos por el lenguaje. Razón por la cual, a lo largo de estos últimos años se ha hecho presente en la escena comunicativa alternativas inclusivas, para las palabras asociadas con un género adoptando así, letras como “X” en Estados Unidos y “E” en la mayoría de países de América latina y España.
