FOOD SUMMIT / CUMBRE DE ALIMENTOS 2024
Nuestra Coalición de comida, celebró su cumbre de comida el pasado noviembre. Allí, nuestra comunidad del condado de Lake pudo participar de conversaciones importantes acerca del futuro en relación a la comida aquí.
Our Food Coalition held its Food Summit last November. There, our Lake County community was able to participate in important conversations about the future of food here.
La cumbre fue un éxito, en ella participaron proveedores de alimentos locales en donde ofrecieron sus productos e interactuaron con nuestra comunidad regalando muestras de su trabajo. La asistencia fue increíble y para este 2025, la coalición de alimentos continuará trabajando arduamente en que nuestro condado de Lake sea un mejor lugar y en el que la comida saludable y accesible para todos sea una realidad.
The Food Summit was a success, with local food vendors offering their products and interacting with our community by giving away samples of their work. The attendance was incredible and for 2025, the Food Coalition will continue to work hard to make Lake County a better place where healthy and accessible food for all can be a reality.
También, tuvimos la increíble oportunidad de entrevistar a Melissa Christensen, la orgullosa propietaria de Tenderfoot Market. En una conversación liderada en dos idiomas Español/ Inglés, con interpretación simultánea; nuestra coordinadora de comunicaciones Luisa Porras y Melissa hablaron de los retos que constituye ser propietario de un negocio local y de la visualización de una comunidad que tenga más opciones locales de tiendas de alimentos.
We also had the incredible opportunity to interview Melissa Christensen, the proud owner of Tenderfoot Market. In a conversation led in two languages Spanish/English, with simultaneous interpretation; Our communications coordinator Luisa Porras and Melissa talked about the challenges of owning a local business and envisioning a community with more local grocery store options.
