In 2020, Lake County Build a Generation worked with 5 community connectors to examine the community food system in Lake County. This resulting Lake County Community Connector Research Report makes key recommendations for improving access to healthy, affordable food in our community.
In 2018, the Lake County Food Access Coalition contracted with the OMNI Institute to conduct a community assessment of barriers to residents’ enrollment in SNAP and accessing healthy, locally grown foods within the county. This report summarizes assessment findings based on background research and data collected from key informant interviews, focus groups, and a community survey. The report concludes with recommendations and next steps for the Coalition to improve food access in the county.
